Abstract
This compilation of research highlights cutting-edge bioremediation strategies for diverse environmental contaminants. It covers enhanced soil bioremediation of persistent organic pollutants using microbial consortia, microplastic degradation by engineered microbes in aquatic systems, and heavy metal phytoremediation by hyperaccumulating plants. Furthermore, it examines constructed wetlands for agricultural runoff, mycoremediation of emerging wastewater contaminants, and biochar applications for soil health and carbon sequestration. The research also explores bio-electrochemical systems for industrial wastewater treatment, marine oil spill bioremediation, enzymatic detoxification of hazardous agents, and plant-microbe synergies in pesticide-contaminated soils. These studies collectively underscore the potential of biological solutions for sustainable environmental cleanup.
