Aromatherapy: Diverse Benefits Enhance Patient Care
Abstract
This analysis synthesizes recent systematic reviews on aromatherapy, revealing its broad therapeutic efficacy. Aromatherapy significantly reduces anxiety, stress, and depressive symptoms, improving mental well-being. It effectively manages various pain types, including cancer-related, labor, postoperative, and dysmenorrhea pain. Furthermore, it enhances sleep quality and cognitive function in older adults and mitigates chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. These findings solidify aromatherapy’s role as a versatile, non-pharmacological complementary intervention, demonstrably enhancing patient comfort and improving outcomes across diverse clinical applications.
