Abstract
Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are a significant complication of diabetes, leading to considerable morbidity and mortality. This
review synthesizes current knowledge on the multifaceted aspects of DFU management, encompassing etiology, pathophysiology,
prevention, and treatment. Key areas addressed include the roles of glycemic control, wound care modalities, infection management,
biomechanical interventions, and patient education. The impact of comorbidities such as peripheral artery disease and Charcot
neuroarthropathy is discussed, alongside emerging technologies like telemedicine. A comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach is
emphasized as critical for limb salvage and improved patient outcomes.
