Abstract
This collection of studies explores diverse strategies for enhancing process safety in the chemical industry. It covers advancements
in Artificial Intelligence for predictive maintenance, digitalization via digital twins for real-time monitoring, and inherently safer
design principles. The critical influence of human factors, organizational culture, and advanced sensor technologies on safety is
examined. Furthermore, the importance of quantitative risk assessment, advanced process control, emergency response planning,
HAZOP studies, and layered safety systems are discussed. The research collectively advocates for a comprehensive, integrated
approach to mitigate risks and ensure safe operations in chemical manufacturing.
