Abstract
Genetic screening offers a proactive approach to cancer prevention by identifying inherited predispositions. This enables tailored surveillance, early intervention, and informed choices. Advances in genetic technologies have increased accessibility, while the interpretation of genetic variants and the expansion of hereditary cancer gene knowledge continue to evolve. Genetic counseling is vital for informed decision-making and psychosocial support. Cascade testing within families and addressing ethical, legal, and social implications are crucial. Emerging technologies and cost-effectiveness remain important considerations for widespread implementation.
