Abstract
The gut microbiota is a critical determinant of host health, influencing immunity, metabolism, and the nervous system. Dysbiosis is associated with various diseases, including inflammatory and oncological conditions. Alterations in the gut microbiome impact cancer development and response to therapies, especially immunotherapy. Integrative medicine employs strategies like diet, probiotics, and fecal microbiota transplantation to restore microbial balance. The gut-brain axis and the production of short-chain fatty acids are key mechanisms of interaction. Understanding these complex relationships offers promising avenues for personalized therapeutic interventions.
