Abstract

This work reviews the critical role of advanced imaging techniques, including PET, MRI, and CT, in understanding and diagnosing metabolic disorders. It highlights how these modalities, often coupled with novel radiotracers, visualize metabolic pathways, quantify cellular function, and track disease progression or therapeutic response. The diagnostic and prognostic value in conditions like diabetes, obesity, inherited metabolic diseases, and mitochondrial disorders is emphasized. The integration of AI/ML and multimodal imaging approaches promises enhanced diagnostic accuracy and personalized treatment strategies.
