Abstract

Inflammation resolution is a crucial, active biological process vital for tissue homeostasis, mediated by specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs). These lipid mediators, including resolvins, protectins, and maresins, actively clear inflammatory cells and promote tissue repair. Dysregulation of resolution contributes to various diseases, from cardiovascular and neurodegenerative conditions to cancer. Therapeutic approaches enhancing SPM activity and cellular functions like efferocytosis offer significant promise for managing inflammatory and chronic diseases.
