Abstract
Interventional radiology (IR) leverages advanced imaging and device technology for minimally invasive treatments across various medical fields, including oncology, vascular diseases, and pain management. Key procedures like embolization, angioplasty, stenting, and percutaneous ablation offer improved patient outcomes and reduced recovery times. IR also plays a critical role in diagnosis through image-guided biopsies and in managing specific conditions such as peripheral arterial disease, venous diseases, neurovascular disorders, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence are further enhancing diagnostic accuracy and procedural efficiency, solidifying IR’s position as a transformative force in modern medicine.
