Abstract
The kinetic chain is a biomechanical concept crucial for athletic performance and injury prevention. Its optimization involves
understanding force transmission through interconnected body segments and addressing weaknesses with targeted interventions. This
holistic approach is applied in sports science, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation, emphasizing neuromuscular control, core stability,
and movement pattern analysis. Specific considerations include overhead athletes, lower extremities, and older adults. Functional
movement screening and footwear assessment are valuable tools in this process, aiming to restore proper biomechanics, enhance
function, and reduce injury risk.
