Abstract

This collection of research highlights the critical and evolving role of energy efficiency metrics in industrial sustainability. Studies explore standardized metrics for benchmarking, lifecycle-based assessments, and dynamic, machine learning-driven indicators for adaptive management. Context-specific metrics are developed for specialized industries, and the impact of metric design on worker behavior is investigated. Methodologies for calculating comprehensive energy performance indices and advanced simulation techniques for precise equipment assessment are presented. Emerging trends include integrating resource efficiency and waste reduction
for circular economy principles and developing metrics for complex decentralized energy systems. The ongoing refinement of these metrics is essential for driving innovation, optimizing processes, and achieving sustainable growth across diverse industrial sectors.
