Abstract
This research synthesizes studies on bioremediation of crude oil hydrocarbons in arid environments. It covers microbial consortia, metabolic pathway analysis, biosurfactant applications, bioaugmentation, fungal potential, synergistic microbial interactions, phy toremediation via plant-microbe partnerships, nutrient amendments, extremophilic microbes, and genetically modified organisms. The findings collectively highlight diverse and advanced strategies for addressing hydrocarbon contamination in challenging desert ecosystems, emphasizing microbial adaptation and enhanced degradation capabilities.
