Abstract
Dr. Maya Deshpande’s research advances bioremediation techniques through the study of microbial consortia, enzymatic degradation, and biosurfactant development. Her work addresses diverse pollutants including recalcitrant organics, pesticides, heavy metals, and plastics. Investigations into microbial adaptation, gene expression, and extremophile potential contribute to novel strategies. Bioaugmentation and genetic engineering are explored for enhanced pollutant removal from soil, water, and industrial waste.
