Abstract

This compilation explores advancements in bioremediation, focusing on microbial degradation of recalcitrant organic pollutants, plasticizers, and emerging contaminants like PFAS. It highlights the roles of bacteria, fungi, genetically engineered microorganisms, and plant-microbe interactions in diverse environmental settings. Techniques such as bioaugmentation, constructed wetlands, and biofiltration are examined for their effectiveness in treating soil, water, and air pollution. The importance of enzymatic pathways and biosurfactants in enhancing degradation processes is also emphasized, underscoring the potential of biological solutions for environmental restoration.
