Abstract

Neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) are vital for the management of critically ill newborns. Advances in respiratory support, surfactant therapy, and sepsis management have significantly improved outcomes. Neuroprotection strategies like therapeutic hypothermia and optimized nutritional support are crucial. Common morbidities such as jaundice, necrotizing enterocolitis, and patent ductus arteriosus require vigilant monitoring and evidence-based treatment. Developmental follow-up ensures long-term well-being for NICU graduates. These advancements collectively enhance survival rates and quality of life for vulnerable neonates.
