Abstract
This collection of reviews examines the multifaceted impact of nutrition policies on children’s health, particularly concerning childhood obesity prevention. Findings consistently show that diverse strategies are effective. Policies targeting dietary sugar, including taxes and labeling, improve nutritional outcomes. School nutrition policies, marketing restrictions, and local food initiatives create healthier environments. Crucially, early childhood interventions, encompassing maternal and pediatric nutrition, establish foundational healthy eating patterns. Integrating prevention into primary care and adopting comprehensive public health approaches are essential. Overall, the evidence underscores the necessity of multi-sectoral, targeted interventions for tackling childhood obesity and promoting long-term child well-being.
