Abstract
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has revolutionized pediatric surgical care, offering reduced pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery. Advancements in instrumentation, imaging, and robotics have expanded its application across various specialties, including general surgery, urology, and thoracic surgery. Laparoscopic appendectomy is now standard for uncomplicated cases, and MIS techniques are increasingly used for congenital abdominal wall defects, gastrointestinal issues, and thoracic conditions. Robotic assistance and single-port VATS enhance precision and minimize invasiveness. Specialized training and instruments are crucial for the continued safe and effective implementation of pediatric MIS.
