Received Date: Sep 01, 2025 / Published Date: Sep 29, 2025
Abstract
Pediatric transplantation offers life-saving benefits but poses challenges to growth and development. This compilation reviews recent advancements in understanding and managing post-transplant growth outcomes in children. Key factors influencing linear growth, bone health, and endocrine function include immunosuppressive regimens, graft function, and underlying disease. Optimizing nutrition, steroid management, and early detection of growth disturbances are emphasized. Research explores the impact of different immunosuppressive protocols, the potential of growth hormone therapy, and bone health concerns. Endocrine complications and nutritional status are crucial determinants of growth. Long-term growth trajectories, especially after liver and heart transplantation, are influenced by various factors. Genetic influences and effective transition of care are also discussed
