Abstract

Pediatric ultrasound is a crucial, non-ionizing imaging modality for diagnosing a wide range of conditions in children, from abdominal pathologies and urinary tract anomalies to musculoskeletal issues and intracranial abnormalities. Advanced techniques such as point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), elastography, and 3D/4D ultrasound are further expanding its diagnostic capabilities. These technologies contribute to timely management decisions, reduced need for invasive procedures, and improved prenatal and neonatal assessments. Emerging applications of artificial intelligence in pediatric radiology promise to enhance image analysis and workflow efficiency. Overall, pediatric ultrasound continues to be an indispensable and evolving tool in child healthcare.
