Abstract
This compilation of research explores the evolving domain of smart city energy systems. It covers the integration of advanced
technologies like IoT and AI for energy optimization, the role of microgrids for resilience, and the application of big data analytics for
improved grid efficiency. The impact of electric vehicles as distributed energy resources, cybersecurity imperatives for smart grids,
and the necessity of supportive policy frameworks are also detailed. Furthermore, the research examines demand-side management
strategies, renewable energy integration challenges, economic considerations, and the importance of citizen engagement in fostering
sustainable urban energy futures.
