Abstract
Chemoprevention, the use of pharmacological agents to prevent cancer, is an evolving field. This review explores advancements in identifying high-risk individuals and developing targeted strategies, including novel agents, natural compounds, epigenetic modulators, and microbiome-based interventions. Specific cancers such as colorectal, breast, prostate, lung, and ovarian are addressed with current approaches and future directions. Targeted therapies are highlighted for their specificity and reduced toxicity. Challenges in bioavailability, adherence, and side effects are discussed, emphasizing the move towards personalized and proactive cancer prevention
