Abstract
Tele-radiology is significantly transforming medical imaging through remote interpretation, enhancing access to expert diagnoses and improving turnaround times, particularly in underserved regions. Advancements in AI integration and secure cloud-based platforms are streamlining workflows and data sharing. Despite challenges in regulation, image quality, and radiologist-patient connection, its impact on healthcare is positive. Cloud technology provides scalable, secure data management, while AI assists in diagnosis and case prioritization. Robust cybersecurity and standardized protocols are essential for effective operation, and the evolving role of radiologists necessitates new skill sets. Tele-radiology also offers improved opportunities for resident training.
