Abstract

*Parenting plays a pivotal role in shaping the developmental trajectory of children, influencing their emotional, cognitive, and social growth. The way parents interact with their children, including their responsiveness, discipline strategies, and emotional support, significantly impacts a child’s long-term well-being and outcomes. This research examines the role of parenting in child development and explores the implications of different parenting styles for interventions aimed at improving child outcomes. It provides an overview of authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful parenting styles and their effects on children’s mental health, academic performance, and social behavior. Additionally, the paper reviews evidence-based intervention programs designed to improve parenting practices and support child development, highlighting the potential for these programs to reduce adverse developmental outcomes and promote positive family dynamics.
