Abstract

Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) is a well-established treatment for dizziness and balance disorders. It employs specific exercises to enhance the brain’s ability to compensate for vestibular deficits, leading to improved balance, reduced dizziness, and better overall function. Studies confirm VRT’s efficacy across various vestibular conditions, including persistent postural-perceptual dizziness and vestibular migraine. Emerging technologies like virtual reality are enhancing VRT. VRT also plays a role in fall prevention in older adults and works through neuroplastic mechanisms. Its long-term benefits on quality of life and function are
significant.
